Mr. Braue is a native of Vero Beach, Florida and a graduate of Vero Beach High School. After graduation, he then went on to attended Indian River Community College after receiving the Florida Community College Activities Association Scholarship and the Artistic Merit Award in Percussion. He would later transfer to Stetson University where he earned the Bachelor of Music Education Degree while studying with Dr. Bobby Adams, Mr. Anthony Hose, and Dr. David Coash. While attending Stetson, Mr. Braue performed in the University Symphonic Band, Orchestra, and Percussion Ensemble. He was also the recipient of the Van Natta Music Scholarship and Theodore/Vivian Johnson Scholarship.
Prior to his appointment at Clearwater High, Mr. Braue was the Director of Percussion at Martin County High School from 2000-06. Throughout this six year period, his percussion ensembles performed in various Florida Day of Percussion events around the state including those held in Orlando, Tampa, and DeLand. Under his direction these ensembles never received anything less than a Straight Superior Rating at any Music Performance Assessment. During this time Mr. Braue also served as a percussion judge and clinician for several All County Band Festivals as well as the 2006 Florida Community College Activities Association Conference.
Mr. Braue is currently in his third year as the Director of Bands at Clearwater High School where his teaching responsibilities include the Marching Band, Symphonic Winds, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, AP Music Theory, and Beginning Keyboard. Under his direction, the Marching Band has received consecutive straight superior ratings at all Florida Bandmasters Association events as well as first place awards in their division at the Chamberlain Invitational and the Crown Jewel Festival. The Symphonic Winds have received consecutive Straight Superior Ratings for the past two years at its FBA Assessments and has performed at the Smoky Mountain Music Festival, the Music USA Festival, and will travel to Washington D.C. in the spring of 2009 to perform in our nations capitol. The Percussion Ensemble has received consecutive Straight Superior Ratings at all FBA District and State Assessments for the past two years.
Mr. Braue continues to perform as a free lance percussionist throughout Florida and has performed in various venues including performances with the Orlando Opera and the Southern Winds Symphonic Band. He is a member of the Florida Music Educators Association, The Florida Bandmasters Association, The Music Education National Conference, The National Band Directors Association, The Percussive Arts Society International Conference, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
